Grosse Pointe Woods Organizes Tour of Matthei Botanical Gardens

The City of Grosse Pointe Woods is offering a day trip to the Matthaei Botanical Gardens on April 26. The gardens and conservatory cover 300 acres, and are operated by the University of Michigan.

Those who sign up for this day trip, sponsored by the Community Center, will spend the day exploring and learning about these gardens.

The reservation fee -- $26 for Grosse Pointe Woods residents and $30 for non-residents -- includes round-trip transportation aboard a luxury motor coach  and a one-hour guided tour of the 10,000 square-foot conservatory.

After the tour, guests will enjoy an hour of free time before lunch -- included in the ticket price -- at the Moon Wink Café.

The bus leaves the Grosse Pointe Woods Community Center at 9:30 a.m. and returns at 3 p.m.

Please register by April 2. Stop by the Community Center, located at 20025 Mack Plaza, or call (313) 343-2408 for more information.
