Two New Members Join Grosse Pointe War Memorial Board of Directors
Two men recognized for their service to the Grosse Pointe community as well as veterans generally have been appointed to the War Memorial's Board of Directors.
Lt. Col. Constatine Leon and John Prost join 15 others on the board.
Leon is the comptroller for the 127th Wing at Selfridge Air National Guard Base. He manages a $115 million budget and has increased the budget to include training of civilian employees. He also was the first Functional Area Manager, performing a manpower study that impacted employees in 54 states and territories, according to a release from the War Memorial.
Prost, who is known for The John Prost Show on War Memorial television, has been involved in the Grosse Pointe community for decades. He served as a councilman in the Park for eight years, served as the president for Detroit Athletic Club and was named to Michigan Insurance Hall of Fame last year.
Prost has interviewed more than 2,000 people since starting his television show in 1983 and won the Pointer of Distinction Award from the Chamber of Commerce last year.
The War Memorial is a not-for-profit charitable organization offering community classes and services.
