19 Grosse Pointe South Students Earn German Awards

A national German exam resulted in awards being given to 19 Grosse Pointe South High School students this year. Thousands of students take the exam each year.

 

Of nearly 24,000 high school students across the country who complete a national German exam, 19 from Grosse Pointe South earned awards for their performance this year, according to a press release from the district.

The students earned awards in three categories: gold, silver and bronze.

The students who take the test are in their second, third or fourth year of German. The exam allows for diagnostic information to be gathered and provides incentive to the students through a prize system including a study abroad trip as the ultimate prize, according to the Amercian Association of Teachers of German.
