Bashara's Husband Named 'Person of Interest'

Bob Bashara has been named the sole "person of interest" in the strangulation death of his wife, Jane Bashara.

Grosse Pointe Park poilce searched the Bashara's home on Middlesex Road Friday night and the Director of Public Safety David Hiller told several media outlets during an impromptu press conference that Bob Bashara is a "person of interest" in the investigation of his wife's strangulation death.

Hiller also identified Bob Bashsara as the only person of interest, according to the Free Press, and said he took a polygraph test Friday night while officers searched his home.

When officers arrived at the home to perform the search, which was based on a search warrant, several people left the home. About half an hour before they arrived, Patch called the Bashara house and spoke briefly with Bob Bashara's aunt. The background noise during the call indicated many people were at the house.

The investigation is being shared by Grosse Pointe Park and Detroit Police Homicide investigators, since she was reported missing from her home but found in Detroit.

Her death has shocked the community and conversation has been sweeping through the Pointes about what may have possibly happened to her. Despite the perception that crime is rising in the area, the directors of public safety say it is quite the opposite. Major crimes are trending downward and people should feel safe.

Jane Bashara's funeral services are scheduled for Monday and Tuesday

I don't know about the facts of this particular case so I will not condemn her husband as a person of interest. I will say, however, that the system too often tolerates abuse from woman and men, in this particular case it is a man giving it in Harrisburg, PA as the Mayor sits on her hands. Peace. I mean it. And if not peace, at least no violence.
