A dominating defense powered Grosse Pointe South’s football team to a victory in its season opener.
Grosse Pointe South’s defense forced four turnovers, and Eddy Mollinson scored on an 11-yard run to lead the Blue Devils to a 12-0 victory over U-D Jesuit on Friday at Ferndale High School.
Jon Parker kicked two field goals, including a 30-yarder that capped a nine-minute drive at the start of the second half.
Parker and Martin each intercepted a pass, and Renell Perkins and Jack Doyle recovered fumbles for GPS.
