New eatery features specialty pizzas, including the Wham, Bam, Thank You Mammoth.
Pizza is going to extremes in Grosse Pointe.
Extreme Pizza Grosse Pointe will open on Monday, Jan. 14, according to its Facebook page.
The new eatery is located at 369 Fisher Road, across from Grosse Pointe South. The restaurant’s phone number is 313-881-5000.
Extreme Pizza offers specialty pizzas, including the Wham, Bam, Thank You Mammoth (featuring Italian sausage, roasted red peppers and caramelized onions).
Extreme Pizza delivers, and orders can be placed online.
According to the company website, this is the first Extreme Pizza location in Michigan. The franchise also has locations in 11 other states.
The Grosse Pointe Chamber of Commerce will hold a ribbon cutting for Extreme Pizza on Monday, Jan. 14, at 9 a.m.

While I can't wait to give this place a try and I wish them nothing but the best, after checking out their website which is filled with images of snowboards, MX motorcycles and other "Extreme" images, I fear I won't have nearly enough body piercings to be welcomed there. And with the Grosse Pointes being as senior focused as they are I hope the high school across the street will suffice to keep them around.

I work across the street from Extreme Pizza--it is a great environment the the pizza is excellent. The extreme skiing posters have be ready for Colorado. No need for body piercings in this place.

We lived in San Francisco where we enjoyed extreme pizza all the time - it is excellent!!!! Grosse Pointe is lucky to have a restaurant open here. BTW, I never saw any body piercing, snowboards or MX motorcycles at the San Francisco locations....

I was referring to the top of the website where "order on line" is written on a snowboard and the graphics behind the franchise info are of "extreme" sports. Also, my comments were all very tounge-in-cheek, as the word extreme was way over used in the description of a certain group of sports and the people that participated in them in the mid 90s (just as the word epic is today). Sorry for the confusion and I look forward to being stoked on a rad slice of their pie real soon, I'm sure it'll be a gnarly experience.

There is a daily special for the kids. A slice of pizza and a 22oz. fountain pop is $4 and a slice of pizza and a 20 oz. Bottle of pop is $5...if the kids want just a slice of cheese it is $3 or $3.50 for cheese and pepperoni. Thanks, Sam

I too am dissapointed like Katie as well as others I know. Too expensive when Farms Market and Subway now offers pizza slices, much cheaper. Most of these kids (and their parents) can not afford $4.10 a slice. What are they thinking???

I'd pay more than that for a really good slice, just depends on if you prefer quality over quantity. The Wal Mart generation is being brought up to demand the opposite, pay as little as possible and think you got a deal even if the product is sub-par. I'll be checking it out for sure.

Too bad they are not accommodating to people with food allergies. My daughter and I have a peanut allergy and they recommend that those with peanut allergies not eat there.

I tried their pizza last week when they were inviting everyone in to try the pizza for free. I had one huge slice of cheese pizza and it was well worth $4 (t1 slice is the size of 2). I'm a big eater and the one slice filled me up at lunch. They have coupons that bring the price down to a really reasonable level.

Sam, congratulations on your new store, and thank you for opening one in Grosse Pointe on Fisher. With the closing of many business there, we really needed a viable business to open in that area and I know many people thought a pizza place was a great idea because it could serve the students at South for lunch, as well as be an option for ordering dinner in that area of GP. Your prices are fine - almost any student can afford $4 for lunch at Extreme Pizza on occasion. My daughter is a South student and has been there twice with friends - all have said the food is outstanding, and my daughter isn't even a huge pizza eater. I tried it for lunch yesterday, and the pizza was outstanding. The price was very reasonable for a good sized slice of delicious pizza and a drink. Best wishes for much success!
