Grosse Pointe South Girls Basketball Team to Battle Marian
Blue Devils play in Class A quarterfinal on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. with a berth in the state semifinals on the line.
Can the Grosse Pointe South girls basketball team make a return trip to the Breslin Center?
Everyone will learn the answer on Tuesday when the Blue Devils take on Bloomfield Hills Marian in a Class A state quarterfinal at Lake Shore High School in St. Clair Shores. Tipoff is at 7:30 p.m.
At stake is a trip to the state semifinals at Michigan State’s Breslin Center.
Grosse Pointe South advanced to the final four last year, winning in the semifinals and dropping a heartbreaker to Grand Haven in the state final.
This year, the Blue Devils appear primed for a return visit to East Lansing. They enter Tuesday night’s game with a 23-1 overall record.
But first Grosse Pointe South will have to defeat a Marian squad with a 21-3 record.

Do you think the GPN girls varsity basketball team will show up in the stands Tuesday wearing Marian Jerseys ? During Saturday's girls hockey state championship game between GPS and Cranbrook, the GPN girls hockey team showed up wearing Cranbrook jerseys -- pathetic display ladies, very sore losers!
GO SOUTH!

I call BS.
Prove it. And if true, please provide evidence and contact Ben Bandfield and Kate Murray and they will deal with it accordingly.

Come on, Diane. You can't go and waste administrators' time on this? These strumpets go to North, so you must accept that they will show different levels of class and character than Blue Devils.
Much like most of my comments, it's all in good fun.

GP for Life I understand you are a Blue Devil for life and I admire your loyalty, but please don't call our female students strumpets.
thanks

I meant it in the connotative sense, e.g. a term of endearment, though I will retract my previous remark and replace it with "chubby female street urchins of questionable breeding".
I realize that in this day and age it is so hard to detect between connotation and denotation. My apologies.

My daughter was one of the girls that had a Cranbrook Jersey on last Saturday. She and the other girls were supporting their friends on Cranbrook, girls that they had play hockey with thru the summer and fall. It's still their rite to support whoever they decide to. And on this day it was Cranbrook.
I've coached in GPHA, volunteered for over 13 years in the GPN Boosters, supported the GPN boys and girls hockey for 12 years. And I read this crap from you insignificant whiners . I would truly love to meet you.
Worry more about your present recruiting at GPS

You mean like the GPS students that showed up for the Birmingham Marian game dressed like Priests and Nuns?
What goes around comes around. But, Hey, good luck today girls. And student fans, act like you have been there before. (Remember, last year?)

WOW, seriously people? The students will and can support whoever they so choose. And somehow, I think those students would be less likely to resort to name calling and belittling then most of you who have commented on this. Shame on all of you!

I missed that I am very sorry I should not have cast aspersions so hastily.

GP, although I find your apology to be a bit too tongue-in-cheek for me (unless I am seriously missing something) you would be the exception.

Imus lost his job (although temporarily) for making thoughtless and rude comments, clearly GP, you did not learn from that. These are high school kids you are making disparaging comments about. Your apology was a bigger insult. Shame on you...but I think that is the response you want. You bring shame to GPS by connecting yourself to it when you attack children that way.

Ah but as soon as the fervor died down he was right back on air. So it really taught us public opinion is a fleeting fickle thing and consequences are temporary. Not that it excuses attacking children just clarifying the lesson from the Imus incident.
