The Grosse Pointe South girls basketball team kept its quest for a state championship alive.
The Blue Devils defeated Dakota 59-48 on Thursday at Lake Shore High School to win a Class A regional title and remain on track for a return trip to the Breslin Center.
Grosse Pointe South finished second in the state tournament last year. With Wednesday’s triumph, the Blue Devils still have a chance to do even better this year.
GPS advances to the state quarterfinals, where the Blue Devils will take on Bloomfield Hills Marian on March 12 at Lake Shore.
