Grosse Pointe South Leads MHSAA's Parade of Champions

Grosse Pointe South tied Brother Rice, Houghton and Marquette with the most high school sports state championships in 2011-12 with four.

 

Grosse Pointe South leads the Michigan High School Athletic Association’s Parade of Champions for the 2011-12 school year.

Grosse Pointe South tied with Bloomfield Hills Brother Rice, Houghton and Marquette with four state championships for the year, according to the MHSAA.

The Blue Devils won state titles in girls golf, girls cross country, girls tennis and girls track and field.

Grosse Pointe South’s girls hockey team won a state championship, but girls hockey is not recognized by the MHSAA.

University Liggett also made the parade of champions as the boys hockey team won the Division 3 state crown.
