Grosse Pointe South Student Held Over 'Bomb' Tweet
Grosse Pointe Farms police escorted a South High School student off campus about an hour ago after he sent a Tweet containing the word "bomb" during a Rick Santorum speech.
Grosse Pointe Farms police have escorted one Grosse Pointe South High School student from campus after he used the word "bomb" in a Tweet referencing Rick Santorum, the former presidential candidate who is addressing more than 1,000 students in the gymnasium.
The student was not in attendance at the speech but was elsewhere in the building, according to a source closely related to event security.
The Tweet said: "Hey Mr. Santorum, can you sign this bomb for me?"

Grosse Pointe Farms Public Safety Director Dan Jensen told Patch a detective inside the high school caught wind of the tweet.
The minor was then taken into custody. Police are now waiting for the student's parents to arrive before speaking to the student.

"It definitely doesn't look serious," Jensen said of the Tweet shortly after the incident was brought to his attention.
There have otherwise not been any problems in connection with Santorum's appearance. He is still addressing part of the student body and a question and answer session is scheduled to happen before this portion of his visit comes to an end.
