Grosse Pointe South TV Production Students Sweep Awards

During a recent competition, students in Grosse Pointe South's tv production program won first, second and third place for the music video category.

 

Grosse Pointe South television production students swept the music video category of a recent competition among area high schools. 

The students took first, second and third place for the music video competition of the 2013 Orchard Lake Student Film Festival this month, according to Steve Geresy, who is in charge of the television production program at South.

To conclude the festival, the winning videos were on display and played to the public, according to Geresy. 

The first place team produced "I'm Just a Kid" and included: 

  • Sally Ottenhoff, 2014
  • Rami Nazarko, 2013
  • Carl Stafford, 2013
  • Victor Aguilera, 2013 

The second place team produced "Aaron's Party" and included: 

  • Ingrid Shirar, 2013
  • Margaret Brennan, 2013
  • Ali Crowley, 2013
  • Kim Stavale, 2013
  • Bridgette Champane, 2014

The third place team produced "Golden Age" and included:

  • Ali Yenchick, 2013
  • Jennifer Colosi, 2013
  • Mimi Teodecki, 2013
  • Lydia Burton, 2015
  • Christian Baker, 2014
  • Emily Zink, 2015

Congratulations. Too bad the Board of Ed is "offering" yet another paycut and reduced benefits to these students' successful and dedicated teachers, with the caveat that they can cut even more when state funding changes.
