Despite a 12-7 halftime lead for Grosse Pointe South, visiting Dakota High turned up the intensity in the closing two quarters and cruised to a 27-12 victory Friday night.

Dakota outscored the Blue Devils, 20-0, in the final half of play thanks to a potent rushing attack and a stingy defense—a defensive effort that stymied South's offensive attack, particularly on the ground.

The loss drops the Blue Devils to 3-1 on the season, and sets the stage for one of the season's most anticipated matchups next Friday evening—a showdown with Grosse Pointe North at home.

Dakota improved its record to 3-1 overall. The Cougars play at Stevenson on Sept. 23.

Thank you so much for crediting the defense in the roll in the victory! They never seem to get the glory
