Last Chance: National Library Week

Grosse Pointe Public Library will celebrate National Library Week with several events and giveways beginning today through Saturday.

The Grosse Pointe Public Library system is celebrating National Library Week from Monday through Saturday. There are some special events planned and a daily "giveaway" at each of the three branches, which include:

  • Monday: giveaways at the reference desk for kids and adults
  • Wednesday: no fine day, any items overdue that are returned on this day will have their fines waived
  • Friday: earn a free video buck with any DVD rental
  • Saturday: raffle prize drawing at each branch, which is a gift certificate to City Kitchen

The libraries have other events scheduled as well, including:

  • an author talk on Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the Woods Branch
  • a viewing of the family movie Hugo Wedensday at 2 p.m. at the Woods Branch
  • a job resources workshop Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Ewald Branch
  • an introduction to the Nook reader Thursday at 7 p.m. at the Ewald Branch
