North Boys Swim Team Competes in Invitational

Grosse Pointe North Boys Swimming and Diving Team sets four records during invitational meet at L'Anse Creuse North.

The Grosse Pointe North Boys Swimming and Diving Team competed in the L'anse Creuse North Invitational Thursday setting four records and winning five of 11 events.

No team scores were kept.

Grosse Pointe North swimmers established three L'anse Creuse North pool records, set one Grosse Pointe North varsity record and won five of 11 events.

Justin Rakowicz won the 50 and 100 yard freestyle in D2 state qualifying times.

Christian Mellos won the 100 yard breastroke in a L'anse Creuse North pool record and in a D2 state qualifying time.

Peter Shea achieved a D2 state qualifying time in the 50 yard freestyle.

The Grosse Pointe North 200 yard freestyle relay of Justin Rakowicz, Matthew Leone, Peter Shea and Christian Mellos set a new L'anse Creuse North pool record, a Grosse Pointe North varsity record and D2 state qualifying time.

The Grosse Pointe North 400 yard freestyle relay of Justin Rakowicz, Patrick Turnbull, Peter Shea and Christian Mellos set a new L'anse Creuse North pool record and D2 state qualifying time.
