North Girls Swim Team Defeats Utica Stevenson

The Grosse Pointe North High School girls swimming and diving team took home its first win Tuesday in a meet against Utica Stevenson.

The Grosse Pointe North Girls Swimming and Diving Team notched is first dual meet win with a 104-66 win over Utica Stevenson Thursday night.

Carrie Rakowicz was a double winner taking the 200 and 500 yard freestyle, while Emma Mathews won the 100 yard freestyle and Olivia Asimakis scored a win in the 100 yard butterfly.

Season best performances were recorded in the following events:

100 yard freestyle: Emma Mathews

500 yard feestyle: Karyn Schwartz

100 yard backstroke: Ann Marie Nicholson

100 yard breastroke: Katelyn Kohler, Sydney Eger

100 yard butterfly: Laura Dobbs

200 yrd individual medley: Laura Dobbs.

North is now 1-1 (0-0 MAC Red) in dual meet competition.
