Patch Is Collecting Questions for Obama and Romney During the Next Presidential Debate

If you have a question for the candidates, submit it in the comments section below and it could be asked during the televised Oct. 16 Town Hall Presidential Debate.

If last Wednesday’s presidential debate left you with more questions than answers, here’s your chance for the presidential candidates to address the issues that most matter to you in Grosse Pointe.

The next presidential debate will be a town hall meeting format at Hofstra University in Long Island, where voters will ask President Obama and Mitt Romney about domestic and foreign policy.

Grosse Pointe Patch is asking you, our readers, to participate by submitting questions for the candidates.

All you have to do is post your question in the comments section below and we’ll send it to the Commission on Presidential Debates. The Commission is partnering with Patch's parent company Aol, along with Google and Yahoo, to take questions from web users across the country.

Don’t wait until Nov. 6 to have a say in this year’s election. Share your thoughts in the comments!

1. Define quantative easing and the short-term positive effects that it may, or may not, have on the economy.

2. Given the stubornly high U-6 unemployment rate and the lowering "headline" unemployment numbers how would you describe the progress, if any, of the labor market recovery and how would you explain the apparent discrepancies?

3. Isn't the sovereign debt crisis in Europe just proof that "European Socialism" doesn't work and creates unsustainable budget defecits while crippling short- and long-term growth?

I'm sorry GP for Life but "quantitative easing" has too many syllables for any serious prime time discussion in America.

You may wish to consider an alternative phrasing for your question. An acceptable question might be as follows, "Would it be a good idea for the Federal Reserve to purchase long term assets, such as the mortgage on Honey Boo-Boo's house, to increase the money supply?"

In case it is helpful, I offer also a question designed to assess leadership style in a way accessible to viewers in this YouTube age. Please consider asking the candidates, "Which one of you is most like a Honey Badger and why?"

Honey Boo-Boo lives in a house? Thought it was a double-wide or perhaps several shipping containers affixed together by some crude and rudimentary method.

Whatever the case, I agree with you. The Honey Badger question is excellent. I think you could lead off with it to put them at ease.

It was stated in the first debate that Governor Romney proposes to increase military spending by $2 Trillion. Could Mr. Romney give a detailed explanation as to why our military will need an additional $2 Trillion if he were elected president?
