Police Arrive to Search Bashara Home
Grosse Pointe Park Police searched the Bashara home Wednesday morning. Watch Patch for updates.
Grosse Pointe Park Police arrived at the home of Bob Bashara on Middlesex in Grosse Pointe Park Wednesday morning.
Bashara's attorney, David Griem, told radio station WWJ-950 Wednesday morning that police had a search warrant for the Bashara home.
Bashara is the sole "person of interest" in the death of his wife Jane Bashara, who was killed last month. Jane Bashara's body was found in her car in Detroit in January.
Bashara was home when authorities arrived around 11 a.m. and began to search the house, but left just before noon. He declined to comment to media outside the home. Griem said that Bashara would be meeting him in his office Wednesday afternoon.
Griem said on WWJ-950 that investigators will not allow him and his client to see the warrant, or the affadavit for the warrant, or even the previous search warrant.
He was also concerned that the garage area of the house may have been contaminated.
Griem also alleged that Joe Gentz, the St. Clair Shores man who had turned himself in to police Jan. 31 for questioning in the case, had been on Middlesex since his release Friday. Griem also alleged on the night he was released Gentz visited the Travis Restaurant in St. Clair Shores and was "high-fiving and signing autographs for friends." Gentz has not been charged but was recently appointed an attorney.
"This is the horse that the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office and the Grosse Pointe Park police department have decided to place their money on, that horse is never going to get to the finish line," Griem said.
Griem told the Detroit News he expected his client would be charged and they have a plea deal with Gentz, the alleged accomplice.

Whoever wrote this really needs to read what they write before they post their information. Case in point..... Who is GENTZ?
Is that the alledged accomplice or the prosecutor or someone from the police department?

If you have been following the story you would know. Gentz is the supposed person that Bashara hired to kill his wife.

I thought the same thing. He's the alleged accomplice, but if you aren't familar with the case you would never know from the article.

"Griem also alleged that Joe Gentz, the St. Clair Shores man who had turned himself in to police Jan. 31 for questioning in the case, had been on Middlesex since his release Friday." Not too hard to understand. I hope the 'he said' - 'he said' crap gets figured out soon - Mrs. Bashara needs some justice.

What is so hard to understand? And, why would he be on Middlesex the street the street Bashara's live on?
