Pursuit, Drug Purchase End in Arrests in Grosse Pointe Park

The following information is gathered from the Departments of Public Safety of the Grosse Pointes. Arrests do not indicate conviction.

 

Grosse Pointe Park police arrested a 32-year-old Clinton Township man March 15 for fleeing and eluding officers after he failed to stop for speeding near Jefferson and Wayburn about 3:30 a.m. He continued driving, leading officers on a pursuit into downtown Detroit, where he was arrested. He was charged with the fourth degree felony, according to a report. 

Drug Purchase Ends in Arrest of 3

Grosse Pointe Park police arrested three teenagers March 15 after they were spotted drivining into Detroit to buy marijuana and then returning to the Park near Kercheval and Balfour. The teens--ages 16, 16 and 17--were stopped in Grosse Pointe Park. During a search, six baggies of marijuana were found and taken into police evidence. The teens were from the Park and the Farms, according to a report.

Warm-Up Theft

Grosse Pointe Park police are investigating the theft of a 2007 Volvo S60 taken form a driveway in the 1200 block of Yorkshire shortly after 7 a.m. March 15. The vehicle was unlocked and warming up in the driveway at the time of the theft, according to a report.

Change, Credit Cards Stolen

Grosse Pointe Park police are investigating the theft of cash and credit cards from two cars on Whittier early March 15. In one case, a 2005 Volkswagen Jetta was missing loose quarters. In the second case, $200 cash and credit cards were stolen from a 2006 Chrysler Town and Country. The van was unlocked and was parked in the street. A woman's purse was stolen from inside it, according to reports.
