Police Blotter: Unlocked House in Grosse Pointe Park Burglarized

The following information is gathered from the Departments of Public Safety of the Grosse Pointes. Arrests do not indicate conviction.

 

Grosse Pointe Park police are investigating a burglary in the 1400 block of Buckingham that happened between 7:20 to 11 p.m. June 2. Three laptops, a Canon EX DSLR camera and two iPads were stolen. The home was left unlocked, according to a report.

Wallet, Purse Stolen in Windmill Pointe Park

Grosse Pointe Park police are investigating two thefts that happened at Windmill Pointe Park on May 28. A purse was stolen from the pool area about 3:30 p.m. and then a wallet was stolen from a picnic table while its owner was swimming between 3 to 4 p.m. Both items contained cash, credit cards and identification cards, according to a report.

Jewelry Stolen from Bedroom

Grosse Pointe Park police are investigating the theft of three rings from a second floor bedroom of a home in the 1300 block of Three Mile Road on May 29. The theft happened during a graduation party in which the house was open. The rings included a diamond wedding band, an engagement ring and another gold ring, according to a report.

2 Arrested in Theft from Vehicle

Grosse Pointe Park police arrested two people May 28 for stealing cash, jewelry and a blood pressure cuff from a 2001 Jeep Cherokee parked in the 1300 block of Beaconsfield. The theft happened about 9:30 p.m. and a witness pointed out the people responsible to a responding officer. When the officer approached them, a 29-year-old man and a 25-year-old woman, they had the stolen goods in their possession. They also had heroin on them, leading to a drug charge too. Both were charged with possession of heroin and larceny from an automobile, according to a report.

Purse Stolen from Car

Grosse Pointe Park police recovered a purse and its contents in an alley in the 15200 block of Mack Avenue on May 31 that had been stolen from a 1999 Honda Accord parked in the 15000 Mack Avenue. The owner said the car was locked. Officers did not find any damage to the car or surrounding area, according to a report.

Bicycle Stolen

In another theft, Grosse Pointe Park police are investigating a bicycle stolen from the side of a house in the 1300 block of Berkshire Road May 27 between 1 to 2 a.m. The mountain bicycle was unlocked, according to a report.
