Nearly 200 school-aged children painted pictures on the windows of businesses throughout the Village in Grosse Pointe last weekend with an "under the sea" theme as part of the 2012 Paint the Window Contest.

Participation in the annual event was up this year as compared to last, and the Village sidewalks were packed with parents, siblings and friends who came to help, support and watch the artistic process evolve.

Owner of Village Toy Company—one of the sponsors of the event—Ellen Durand shared the list of winners with Grosse Pointe Patch.

The grand prize winner, Abby Alcott, is pictured here. She is a fifth-grader who painted a picture on the window of CVS last Saturday.
