Hoops for Huntington's
The inaugural Detroit Area Hoops for Huntington’s offers eastsiders a chance to promote awareness for Huntington’s Disease and enjoy a day of hoops and camaraderie! The fundraiser is hosted by the daughters of Marcia Hathaway of the Park who was diagnosed with Huntington’s in December 2011.Hoops for Huntington’s will feature an individual free throw challenge where players have three minutes to makes as many free throws as possible. There is also a five member team event in which the first four players have 30 seconds to shoot and the last player a full minute.There will be prizes awarded for top shooters, top team, best sportsmanship and most creative costume.
There will also be a raffle with many valuable prizes from the best local businesses and restaurants around!

Windmill Pointe Park serves residents of Grosse Pointe Park and features a movie theater and workout facility. The park is located at the mouth of the Detroit River and has a playscape, an Olympic-sized swimming pool, a baby pool, sand volleyball courts and tennis courts. The park also has a large picnic area and a marina complemented by a fishing pier.
