Chamber Music Society of Detroit Announces 2013-14 Education Program

The Chamber Music Society of Detroit announces its 2013-2104 Discovery Series Education Program.  In a programming first, seven different residency programs are offered this season featuring a variety of artists from vocalists to brass ensembles to a Master Quartet in Residence.

The Chamber Music Society of Detroit’s educational outreach programs are a key part of its 70 year mission.  The opportunity to participate in high quality cultural activities can enhance and transform a school culture, generating the kind of excitement that motivates learning.  Through music students learn the cognitive and critical thinking skills needed to think artistically and creatively. Our internationally acclaimed artists challenge students to listen actively and contribute their own thoughts and impressions.  The programming variety exposes students to instruments and types of music they might otherwise not be exposed to, helping to expand their appreciation of the arts and the world.
