DTE to Replace Underground Cable in Grosse Pointe Woods

Flickering power outages plaguing residents and businesses in Grosse Pointe Woods Sunday is the result of a problem with a circuit breaker and underground cable.

DTE crews temporarily fixed a problem at one of the substations Sunday and began work today on a permanent fix after residents and businesses experienced scattered power outages Sunday.

A substation at Mack Avenue and Vernier Road had a problem with a circuit breaker and an underground cable, which crews identified Sunday, Woods City Councilwoman Vicki Granger said.

They worked to put in a temporary fix Sunday but told officials both had to be replaced for a permanent fix, she said.
