1. Today will be sunny with temperatures reaching 83, according to the National Weather Service. It'll turn partly cloudy at night with temperatures dipping to 67. The weekend forecast shows chances of rainshowers. 

2. The ballot. Check out the list of who is running for what office in the Grosse Pointes. The list includes petitions for:

• Grosse Pointe Public School Board
• Grosse Pointe Woods
• Grosse Pointe Shores
• City of Grosse Pointe
• Grosse Pointe Farms
• Grosse Pointe Park 

Additionally, a by a Woods resident. A clarity hearing is set for Aug. 30 in that petition. 

3. Michigan State Police are completing an accident reconstruction investigation of . A Park patrol officer attempting to stop the man for speeding ended up in a pursuit after he sped up rather than stopping.

4. Have you yet this week? For the week of Aug. 14-20, the prize is a $35 gift certificate for the  in White Lake. After Sept. 17, a grand prize winner will be chose to win a 2-night stay at Mission Point Resort on Mackinac Island.
