A few quick bits of information to get the day started in Grosse Pointe.

Five quick pieces of information to help get the day started in Grosse Pointe: 

1. Don't forget the umbrella today. Scattered showers and thunderstorms are likely with partly sunny conditions and temperatures reaching 83, according to the National Weather Service. The chance of rain will continue into the evening and the temperature will dip to 65. 

2. , this time at Grosse Pointe Farms, where more than two dozen residents attended to hear their plans. Nearly a dozen residents also expressed their frustration and asked questions of DTE officials. This is DTE's fourth visit in the Pointes related to frequent power outages and service interruptions.

3. Grosse Pointe Park 12s International in the Great Lakes Regional. They came back from Ohio's 6-0 lead to win the game in an extra inning, 7-6. The win helped advance them to a semifinal game scheduled for Wednesday at 11 a.m. It'll be televised on ESPN2. 

4. against two Grosse Pointe Park men after police from their Somerset Street home. The men, 31 and 36, are to be arraigned on the charges Wednesday in Grosse Pointe Park Court.

5. Only one more week until petitions are due to the city clerk's office for November elections. Several have been filed already in each of the Grosse Pointes and Aug. 16 is the deadline for submission. 

  •  Board, which has two open seats and far more than two who have announced their intentions.
  •  City Council, which has all seats open and election results will determine the staggering of seats.
  •  City Council, which has three open seats and five candidates.
  •  City Council, which has three open seats as well as an expiring term for the municipal judge.
