Good Morning Grosse Pointe: July 28

A few quick bits of information to get your day started in Grosse Pointe.

Five quick items to get the day started in Grosse Pointe: 

1. Don't forget the umbrella. There is a strong possibility of rain both today and continuing into tonight, according to the National Weather Service. Temperatures will reach 88 and winds will pick up reaching 22 miles per hour. The temperature will barely drop tonight at 75. 

2. Grosse Pointe Park police are beginning to of four new Crown Victorias this week. One car will be purchased right away and the other three in a few months. The Woods and the Shores also have added new vehicles to their fleets.

3. Typically there would a reminder of Music on the Plaza, but this is a reminder that there isn't a show today. The event is scheduled to skip a week so businesses and the Village Association could prepare for the annual sidewalk sale that begins Friday at noon.  

4. A much-deserved thanks goes to the in Lake Huron Wednesday. The pilot had been in the water for more than 17 hours without a life jacket or other support.

5. In case you missed it, for the Blitz, which competed in the Race to Mackinac last weekend. The Blitz had to retire from the race, but Tokatlian has participated in 20 Mackinac races. There is also a and today a new photo gallery will feature pictures from the finish line.
