Five things to get your day started in Grosse Pointe.

Here are a few quick pieces of information to get your day started.

1. The temperatures will drop a bit today with a high of 81 anticipated, according to the National Weather Service. The day will be clear and sunny and those conditions will continue into the evening. 

2. In case you missed it during the holiday weekend, police in the Grosse Pointes are urging bicycle owners to lock them up wherever they go and for homeowners to keep their garage doors closed. They are seeing the typical spike in warm-weather related thefts.

3. Bring a lawn chair and enjoy the  is tonight at 7 p.m. This week's concert features the Sun Messengers on St. Clair Street near Kercheval. Dancing is encouraged. 

4. Grosse Pointe Public School District scheduled the next round of interviews with the three superintendent candidates for July 11 and 12. Community receptions are scheduled for each of the candidates and their board interview follows. Check out the schedule if you'd like to meet the candidates or share your thoughts.

The top 10 vote-getters will win cash, from $1,000 to $10,000. Anyone 13 years old and older can vote daily through July 15.
