Good Morning Grosse Pointe: Sept. 1

Five quick pieces of information to get the day started in Grosse Pointe:

1. Don't forget the umbrella, there is a 20 percent chance of rain before 10 a.m. with mostly cloudy conditions that will clear later in the day, according to the National Weather Service. The temperature will reach 85 and conditions will remain clear at night with the temperature dipping to 73. 

2. Amy Pugliesi recently with a focus on individual training through the lengthening and strengthening form of exercise. She is offering $25 one-on-one sessions for first time customers. 

3. Did you catch Tom Harwood on WDET 101.9FM Tuesday? He gave an interview about the current state of Grosse Pointe Schools, his role as the next superintendent and touched on recently released state rankings for the district. He also touched on the topic of Schools of Choice and the fear of the unknown being that a draft of the bill has not yet surfaced in the state legislature. 

4. Check out our and evening fundraiser that closed Kercheval Avenue on the Hill Wednesday. The charity raises money for the pediatric units of several area hospitals.
