A few quick bits of information to get the day started in Grosse Pointe.

Five quick pieces of information to get the day started in Grosse Pointe: 

1. Today will start with dense fog, according to the National Weather Service. After 8 a.m., conditions will improve with a mostly sunny day and a high of 70. Some clouds will move in tonight with a low of 59.

2. With a unanimous vote Monday, now being considered in Lansing. The Senate Education Committee will have a hearing Wednesday at noon on the package of education reform bills.

3. and will continue their work today. The corner will be home to a new two-story building that is a joint project between the Neighborhood Club and Beaumont Hospital Grosse Pointe. 

4. There will soon to be another outdoor dining option after the City of Grosse Pointe council approved a request from the new Hydrangea Kitchen at 371 Fisher Road. The outdoor seating will be self-serve and will allow diners the option to take their meals outside.

5. Police in several of the Grosse Pointes are in which purses and miscellaneous items were stolen. In Grosse Pointe Farms, detectives have a potential lead but police are asking everyone to avoid leaving valuables in their vehicles.
