Five quick pieces of information to get the day started in Grosse Pointe:

1. Today will feel cooler with a high of 68 and partly sunny conditions, according to the National Weather Service. There is a 20 percent chance of rain and a light wind. The low will be about 52 tonight and the possibility of rain remains.

2. Grosse Pointe Farms will hold its second public meeting related to the inland district storm water/raw sewage drainage backups Monday. The follow-up meeting will begin at 7 p.m. in the Grosse Pointe War Memorial auditorium and officials are planning to let residents know what's happened since the last public meeting.

3. Star of the Sea middle schoolers completed a writing and art project this week in recognition of the International Day of Peace. They displayed their Wednesday as a reminder of the importance of peace globally and locally to passersby.

4. The new cafe on Fisher Road, . Add it to the list of places to dine outdoors this fall.

5. Donate blood today in the parking lot of the Grosse Pointe Shores municipal building. The American Red Cross Bloodmobile will be there accepting donations from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Call 313-881-5503 to schedule an appointment.
