Winds will be south-southeast, 5-8 mph. Tonight the 40 percent chance of showers will linger, with a low around 55 and winds will be south-southeast at 3-8 mph.

2. planning commission meets tonight beginning at 7 p.m. The commission will continue its discussion related to the ordinance prohibiting retailers from selling any more than 25 percent of secondhand goods of their total merchandise, according to the agenda. The discussion is the result of the council's request for it to be studied after .

3. DTE Energy representatives appeared before the Grosse Pointe Park City Council Monday night and apologized for the problems and difficulties that power outages have caused. They told the Park council and audience Monday that service will be improved and repairs have already been made or are in progress.

4. Grosse Pointe Schools clerical staffers whose jobs were caught up in the budget cuts are getting their old jobs back. The board of education voted Monday night to return school clerks to their schedules from last school year rather than the reduced hours they've been working this school year because of the clerks' importance to the safety and well-being of the students.
