Grosse Pointe Chamber Seeking Nominations for 'Pointer of Distinction' Awards

The Grosse Pointe Chamber of Commerce is seeking nominations for its annual Pointer of Distinction Awards to be given during the Chamber's annual meeting on Jan. 29. Deadline is December 30.

 

The Grosse Pointe Chamber of Commerce Annual Meeting will be held on Tuesday, January 29, 2013 at the Grosse Pointe War Memorial and the Pointer of Distinction Awards are presented during the annual meeting.

The Chamber is seeking nominations for the Pointer of Distinction Awards.  The categories are:

Youth Achievement: The student must be currently enrolled in a Grosse Pointe high school, excel academically as well be involved in extra-curricular activities. The student must also be involved in one foundation or charitable activity and provide letters of recommendation.

Community Service: Nominee must be a Grosse Pointe resident who is involved and has made an impact in the community as well as exhibit leadership.

Excellence in Business: Nominee must live or work in Grosse Pointe, be accomplished in the area of business and must provide letters of recommendation.

New Business Enterprise: Nominee must live or work in Grosse Pointe, have launched a successful business within the last five years, have a solid business plan in place and be able to provide letters of recommendation.
