Grosse Pointe Rotary Gives to Ghana Project
Grosse Pointe Rotary gives a donation to the Windsor Rotary Club which has been working to better people's lives in Ghana for 18 years.
GROSSE POINTE - Rotary Club of Windsor President-Elect Janet Kelly gave a thorough slide presentation about her club's 18-year effort to help the people of Jirapa, in upper Ghana in west Africa, to the Rotary Club of Grosse Pointe last week.
Rotary of Grosse Pointe President Diane Strickler, on behalf of the Grosse Pointe Rotary Foundation, responded by presenting a check for $500.00 to assist the Windsor club's ongoing efforts in Ghana.

The donation was matched through the Canadian Rotary Collaboration for International Development, and the Grosse Pointe Rotary's $500 contribution became $2,700 for Project Jirapa. The donation is enough to renovate a school or sponsor nearly two nursing students in Jirapa.
