Nearly 700 in Grosse Pointe Park Without Power

Power restoration is expected by 11:30 p.m. and some of the outages are due to trouble with transformers, according to DTE.

Spotty portions of , and even one small area in , are without power today. 

Some outages began early Wednesday and more have been added throughout the day, according to a DTE outage map, which also details that service is likely to be restored for most of the areas by 11:30 p.m.

The outages are near Vernor and Nottingham, Fairfax and Balfour, Pemberton and Essex and a portion of Windmill Pointe Road. There are a few areas just outside of the Park in Detroit also experiencing outages, according to the map, which says 692 people are without power in the 48230 zip code. A search for the 48236 zip code shows there are no outages.

At least two of the outages say the cause is related to trouble with transformers.

This power outages comes just a few weeks after the area was hit with outages due to high winds. The most residents affected in that . Grosse Pointe Woods officials have to talk about the power grid serving the neighborhood plagued by the outages.

Equipment failure is responsible nationwide for about 15 percent of power outages whereas weather and trees are responsible for 62 percent, according to DTE information. Power grid failure accounts for 5 percent of outages.
