Power Outage Grows in Grosse Pointe Park

As DTE crews continue restoration of power throughout metro Detroit most of the customers in Grosse Pointe Farms have regained electricity. Meanwhile the outage in the 48230 zip code has grown.

While most of the residents who spent their holiday weekend without power have been restored, DTE maps show the outage in the 48230 zip code has grown. 

DTE at 11:30 p.m. at the latest but the outage continued into early Tuesday. Growing from about an original 2,500 to 3,036. The number dipped briefly below the original number but then surpassed itself a short time later. 

According to an outage map at 12:42 a.m. Tuesday, more than 1,400 customers in the closest to Detroit are expected to regain power by 11:30 p.m. Wednesday July 6. Another 111 are expected to regain power by 11:30 p.m. Tuesday.

during Saturday's thunderstorm. There is also a portion of the that has since lost power. There are about 170 customers in the neighborhoods from St. Clair Street to Cadieux Road near Jefferson--both north and south of Jefferson--without power. The estimated restoration time is 11:30 p.m. Tuesday. 

Meanwhile, the majority of outages in the Farms have been restored. According to the maps, 80 customers remained without power at 12:45 a.m. Tuesday.

Overall, DTE has restored power to 103,000 of the 125,000 in the metro area who lost power following the thunderstorms, strong winds, hail and lightening Saturday.
