Update: Power Outage in the Woods

About 1,400 Grosse Pointe Woods residents are without power Sunday evening.

About 1,400 DTE customers in the northern portion of Grosse Pointe Woods are without power, according to a DTE outage map.

The majority of customers without service in an area east of Mack, north of Vernier, and just east of Marter, extending to the northern city limits.

A smaller area, approximately west of Mack, south of old 8 Mile and to Hollywood, is also without power.

Service was lost about 4:45 p.m. due to a failed transformer, according to Nixle alert, and is expected to be restored between 7:30 - 9:30 p.m. Sunday.

Update at 11:32 p.m. from Grosse Pointe Woods: Power is restored in Grosse Pointe Woods, with the exception of the businesses along the west side of Mack Avenue from Roslyn to Ridgement. DTE crews are working to restore power to that area as soon as possible.
