Power Outage Affecting Grosse Pointe Woods

About 1,200 DTE Energy customers lost power Tuesday.

About 1,200 DTE Energy customers in northern Grosse Pointe Woods, and southern St. Clair Shores lost power Tuesday.

The power outage knocked out traffic signals on Vernier, but were operational by mid-afternoon.

Patch readers stated the power was restored about 1 p.m., but was lost again nearly an hour later.

The affected area includes an area north of Vernier, east of Mack and west of Wedgewood.

Staff at Mason Elementary School worked to make students "as comfortable as possible" by taking students outside for reading and activities in the shady areas of the school property.

Although it was an inconvenience to some, Andiamo Trattoria informed email subscribers that "We Have Electricity and a 4 Course Menu for $20 at Trattoria."
