Weekend Planner: June 16-19

Plenty to do this weekend, whether it's a car show at Ford House for Father's Day, Paws in the Park fundraiser, or sultry jazz at the Dirty Dog Jazz Cafe, or something else...

Where/When: ; starting 10 p.m. June 17 and 6 p.m. June 18.
Why Go: Fishbone's and Grand Circus Media presents Fishstock June 17 and 18, with a lineup of outdoor summer entertainment, including music by The Hogans, Three Sheets, The Dave Huff Trust and Driven Soul on Friday, starting at 10 p.m., and at 8 and 11:30 p.m. Saturday DJ Mark EP, and at 9:30 p.m. Pato Margetic. Don't forget to place your bets for Saturday's , which starts at 6 p.m. If you want to enter your mini-dachshund in the competition, cost is $10 and benefits the Grosse Pointe Animal Adoption Society.
Pricing: No cover.

Where/When: Luna Kai Tiki Bar (at Gino's Surf), 37400 Jefferson, Harrison Township; 5 p.m.-2 a.m. June 17 and 4 p.m.-2 a.m. June 18.
Why Go: Shiver ye timbers! It's time for PiratePalooza, which drops anchor at Luna Kai Tiki Bar for two days of live music, barbecue (including a Saturday pig roast), drink specials, vendors and swashbuckling fun. Enjoy classic rock on the dock, by Danny D and The Bo Luc Band, sea shanties by the Ann Arbor duo Match by Match on Friday. On Saturday The Orbitsuns and The Bawdy Boys will perform, and acoustic troubador Frankie D'Angelo sings songs of the high seas. Plus, both nights Detroit's own Nikki Black, a dead ringer for Johnny Depp's Jack Sparrow character in the Pirates of the Caribbean movies, will host the Wicked Wench and Captain Jack Sparrow look-alike contests. 
Pricing: $5 for those in pirate gear, and $10 for those who opt for plain clothes. All ages are welcome.

Where/When: 511 W. Canfield, Detroit; 9:30 a.m. June 18.
Why Go: Bike riders, hit the streets for a good cause with the third annual Hubbell Fund bike ride. The event raises funds to support Midtown's business community. Riders have a choice of two routes, one eight miles and the other 25 miles, both beginning at Traffic Jam & Snug restaurant. The routes are designed to give riders a chance to experience some of the city's more unique neighborhoods.
Pricing: Tickets for the Hubbell Fund bike event are $25 for adults and $20 for children under 12. Children in bike seats and trailers are free.  Registration on the day of the event increases by $5. Food and non-alcoholic beverages, music and entertainment are included in the registration fee.

Where/When: ; 10 a.m.-4:30 p.m. June 19.
Why Go: It's time for the EyesOn Design Automotive Show at Edsel & Eleanor Ford House. More than 200 vehicles, from vintage to futuristic, will be on display along the lakefront grounds.
Pricing: Cost is $20 per person at the gate. Children 12 and under will be admitted free with an adult.

Where/When:; 10 a.m.-2 p.m. June 18.
Why Go: The Grosse Pointe Animal Adoption Society holds its annual Paws in the Park, a family friendly event where you'll stroll down Windmill Pointe Drive and top it off with refreshments, hot dogs, and vendors -- perfect for pets and their people.
Pricing: Donations of any amount will be accepted and appreciated. Please make checks payable to Grosse Pointe Animal Adoption Society (GPAAS).

Where/When: Chandler Park Drive and Canyon, Detroit; 8:30 p.m. June 18.
Why Go: The Alger Theater is hosting "Film on the Hill: A Moonlight Series," on Detroit's east side, at Balduck Park. The fun begins with live music by guitarists Bob O’Brien and Gerry Brisson. Then at dusk it's time for the animated movie, Mia and the Migoo.
Pricing: Free.

Where/When: 11 a.m.-2 p.m. June 19.
Why Go: Bring the youngsters for memorable fun this Father's Day, where War Memorial will have a petting zoo and pony rides on the back lawn. Don't forget that camera!
Pricing: Cost is $3 per person. Infants under the age of 1 get in free.

Where/When: ; 6 and 8:30 p.m. through June 18, and 10:30 p.m. June 17 and 18.
Why Go: Hear local legend Thornetta Davis all weekend long as she headlines at the Dirty Dog Jazz Cafe.
