You're Safer in Grosse Pointe Woods than Almost Anywhere Else in Michigan

From its low crime rate to excellent school system to its many festivals, Grosse Pointe Woods is a great – and safe – place to live.

Where’s one if the safest places to live in Michigan?

Grosse Pointe Woods, which ranked 22nd on the list of Michigan’s 50 safest cities released Wednesday the national security organization SafeWise.

“Located approximately 10 miles northeast of downtown Detroit, this affluent suburb had just five reported incidences in 2012, none of which were murder or manslaughter cases.

"The Grosse Pointe Public School System is the district serving the educational needs of K-12 students, including those with special needs. The Barnes Early Childhood Development Center provides pre-K services to up and coming students.
