4 Grosse Pointe Students Honored for Original Compositions

The Michigan Music Educators Association recognized three students Jan. 19 for their original compositions, which they performed during the event.

Four Grosse Pointe students were among 21 throughout Michigan to earn an Honors Composition Award from the Michigan Music Educators Association for 2013.

The organization recognized the recipients during the Michigan Music Conference Jan. 19 featuring the original compositions of the 21 selected students, according to its website.

Among the winners are Hannah Ayrault, Alyssa Campbell, Connor Reinman and Jonathan Valente. This is the third year in a row being a recipient for Ayrault and the second Campbell, according to the MMEA website.

Ayrault played the piano and sang her original composition, Fairy Tales; Campbell played the piano for her original composition, Gypsy Revelations; Reinman conducted his family and friends in singing his original composition, Stars, according to Terry Ayrault.

Valente's original composition was Sudden Sunset.
