2011 Holiday Walk and Shopping Extravaganza

The Mothers' Club of Grosse Pointe South High School hosts its 2011 Holiday Walk & Shopping Extravaganza, from noon-5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 4, starting at the "Holiday Hub," in Grosse Pointe South's Cleminson Hall.

Over the summer, there was flooding at South. Holiday decorations — many handmade — were lost as a result. Kim Tripp, Holiday Walk chair, and Allison Baker, president of Mothers' Club of Grosse Pointe South, formed committees to replace lost items and prepare for the walk. Walk funds raised support classroom enrichment, college scholarships and historic preservation projects.

The community can support Grosse Pointe South’s second largest fundraiser by purchasing tickets for the Holiday Walk, which features five decorated homes in the Grosse Pointes, shopping at the Holiday Walk vendor fair, featuring 15 local businesses and purchasing raffle tickets. Prizes include an autographed baseball by Tigers’ Jose Valverde and jewelry from Ahee Jewelers and much more.
