'Bridge to Freedom' Concert and Fundraiser

The Freedom House hosts “The Bridge to Freedom,” a concert and fundraiser that celebrates the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and benefits Freedom House, which provices temporary shelter to those seeking asylum in the United States and Canada.

Those who attend the fundraiser will enjoy live music from Detroit-based and international recording artists at the historic Marlene Boll Theatre.

The Rev. Robert B. Jones, with more than 20 years of experience as a musician, storyteller, radio producer/host and music educator, will headline the King Holiday celebration. Also performing will be Rwanda’s most celebrated pop star, Ben Mugisha (aka The Ben), a former Freedom House resident who was recently granted asylum in the United States. Ethiopia-born actor and recording artist, Mike Ellison (aka MIKE-E), will host the evening.
