FOUNDATION RAISES MEDICAL RESEARCH FUNDS WITH JONATHAN WINTERS FILM
GROSSE POINTE, MI (May 1, 2012) – The Facial Pain Research Foundation in collaboration with Kenneth F. Casey, MD will present “Certifiably Jonathan,” an award winning comedy/mockumentary film featuring the legendary comic Jonathan Winters, at the Okulsky Family Theatre in Grosse Pointe, Michigan on the evening of May 23, 2012. The Fund-raising event will benefit The Facial Pain Research Foundation’s efforts to find a cure for Trigeminal Neuralgia and associated facial pain.
Jonathan Winters is the star of “Certifiably Jonathan.” Robin Williams, Sarah Silverman, Howie Mandel, Tim Conway, Robert Klein and “surprise guests” join Winters ,who goes in and out of his bi-polar world where reality and fantasy collide. Winters, an 80-year-old comic genius, is also a gifted painter who dreams of having his work hang in the Museum of Modern Art. The filmmakers convince the museum to give Jonathan a showing. Jonathan launches into a creative frenzy but disaster strikes when his favorite painting is stolen along with his sense of humor. Jonathan sets out on a quest to get his creative confidence back with the help of his comic friends.
"Making a movie with crazy Jonathan Winters nearly made me crazy, too,” said the film’s L.A. based director Jim Pasternak. “Audiences everywhere love the film; how can you not love Jonathan Winters?"
