Liggett Players Present 'A Raisin in the Sun' and 'Moon Over Buffalo'

The Liggett Players present not one, but two very different plays, in repertory this weekend: Lorraine Hansberry's 1959 classic, A Raisin in the Sun, and Ken Ludwig's backstage farce, Moon Over Buffalo.

A Raisin in the Sun is the story of the Youngers, an African-American family struggling with racial matters and personal complications. Raisin stars Mariah Patrick of Grosse Pointe, Harley Dixon of Grosse Pointe Woods, Morgan Hutson of Detroit, Daria Lewis of Detroit, Aaron Robertson of Wayne, Fred Saffold IV of Detroit, Emily Johnson of Grosse Pointe Park, Austin Sasser of Southfield, and Elijah Johnson of Detroit. Dr. Phill Moss, Liggett’s Chair of the Fine and Performing Arts Department, is the director.

Moon Over Buffalo is a comedy that veers into farce, slapstick and mistaken identities. It stars Alex Holmes of St. Clair Shores, Susie Stefani of Grosse Pointe, Zoe Hu of Grosse Pointe Park, Janine Puleo of Grosse Pointe Farms, Henry Duhaime of Grosse Pointe Park, Madeline Mair of Grosse Pointe Farms, Alec Josaitis of Eastpointe, and Joey El-Gothamy of Warren. Liggett alumnus T.J. Corbett directs.
