AT&T Expands Mobile Internet Service at Beaumont Hospital

AT&T customers will have enhanced mobile mobile Internet coverage at Beaumont Hospital in Grosse Pointe with the installation of a new antenna system.

AT&T recently completed the installation of a new Distributed Antenna System (DAS) at Beaumont's hospital in Grosse Pointe which offer enhanced mobile Internet coverage for employees, physicians, patients and their families, according to company officials.

All three Beaumont hospitals now offer enhanced service with the installation of the DAS, which consists of multiple strategically-placed antennas that distribute AT&T’s wireless network, according to a release.

The system provides a more efficient management of wireless capacity in heavily-trafficked areas, including indoor or outdoor spaces.

The Beaumont installation is part of a three-year plan to expand and enhance its IP broadband networks, according to AT&T.

“We want our customers to have access to fast, reliable services at a time when communicating with family and friends is at its most important,” said Jim Murray, president, AT&T Michigan, in a release. “With initiatives like Project VIP, we’re continuing our investment in the wireless network, and providing enhanced wireless coverage at Beaumont hospital.”
