Beaumont Grosse Pointe Opens Vein Clinic on Hill

Grosse Pointe Chamber of Commerce officials recently celebrated the grand opening of Beaumont Hospital Grosse Pointe's new vein clinic on the Hill.

Beaumont Hospital Grosse Pointe opened a new clinic on the Hill that offers non-surgical treatment for varicose veins in an outpatient setting.

The vein clinic, 87 Kercheval Ave., is located next to Morning Glory Coffee and will treat adult patients.

According to information from Beaumont, the clinic will specialize in three types of treatment:

  • laser vein ablation
  • phlebectomy
  • sclerotherapy

The first uses laser technology to cauterize the veins; the second uses micro-incisions to remove the veins; and the third uses a fine needle to inject a blocking agent to stop the growth of the varicose or spider vein.

Officials at the center will offer assessment of the veins, recommendations for treatment, if any, and the appropriate procedure. Most treatments are expected to take less than an hour, according to Beaumont.

This is Beaumont's third vein center. There are also locations in Royal Oak and Sterling Heights.

Most insurances cover the procedures offered and a referral is only necessary if required by a patient's insurance, according to information from Beaumont.

The new vein center recently celebrated its grand opening with a ribbon-cutting ceremony with the Grosse Pointe Chamber of Commerce.
