F & H for the Home Celebrates with Ribbon-Cutting

The new home store on the Hill officially celebrated its grand opening early Monday with a ribbon-cutting with the Grosse Pointe Chamber of Commerce and Grosse Pointe Farms officials.

F & H for the Home on the Hill in Grosse Pointe Farms celebrated its grand opening Monday. The store, owned and operated by Nina Tocco, offers home decor and interior design with Swedish and Belgian influences.

The showroom/design studio opened March 9 in the former Bambu Restaurant space at 75 Kercheval Ave. Tocco remodeled after gutting the building down to the studs.

Everything in the store can be ordered, even in the bathroom--a decision she made purposfully with the intent of showing clients ideas and enabling them to incorporate it just as they see it in the store.

Tocco is aiming to work with local businesses, designers and artists, she said, noting a specially produced ceramics line by an artist who lives on Neff Road and fires everything in the backyard. Additionally, she has flowers on display from Flowers by Gabrielle in the Park.

Tocco along with two of her close friends, Emily Krajniak and Vina Taylor, celebrated the grand opening Monday with Grosse Pointe Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Jennifer Boettcher, Farms City Manager Shane Reeside and Farms Public Safety Director Dan Jensen.
