Full Lotus Yoga to Open Saturday in Grosse Pointe Woods

Full Lotus Yoga will have opening day specials Saturday, including prize raffles for spa services, yoga classes and more. Additionally, all classes at the studio will be free for the first week.

Full Lotus Yoga, a new yoga studio, is opening on Mack Avenue in Grosse Pointe Woods Saturday June 8, 2013, with a variety of classes and a remodeled space with bamboo floors.
Owner Liz Defour has been practicing yoga since she was 14 and opening her own studio is a "dream come true," she said Thursday following a ribbon-cutting ceremony with city and Grosse Pointe Chamber of Commerce officials.
Defour, 21, grew up in Grosse Pointe Woods and currently lives in Grosse Pointe Park.
The building belongs to her family and is where her father and grandfather sold insurance. Located at 20365 Mack Ave., the studio features bamboo flooring and a comfortable reception area with a couch and arm chairs.
Defour has been teaching yoga for about a year and a half at Pointe Fitness, Wayne State University and University Liggett High School. She is also a student at Wayne State University.
The studio will open Saturday. Defour will have a variety of offerings Saturday, including raffles with prizes that include yoga classes or gift certificates for spa services.
Additionally, on Saturday, anyone who signs up for a package will receive 35 percent off.
From June 8 to 14, all classes at the studio will be free, Defour said.
The full class schedule is available on the studio's website, FullLotusYoga.net. The studio may be reached by telephone at 313-885-9642.
