Grand Opening: Cleopatra Mediterranean Grill

When you walk through the doors of Cleopatra Mediterranean Grill located at 19027 Mack Avenue (just south of Moross) it's more like a journey to Egypt than a few steps in from the street.

The newly opened eatery is loaded with authentic Egyptian decor and warmly welcomes each guest to the grill where there are plenty of replica Egyptian artifacts and art to keep the eye wandering from one masterpiece to the next.

The cuisine is authentic Mediterranean and offers patrons a wide variety of fresh dishes ranging from classics such as hommus, grapeleaves, kibbie and lamb chops to main dishes such as Shish Kafta and Saji--and everything else a Mediterranean food lover could hope to find on the menu.

Cleopatra owner, Sam Tobia, along with business partner, Farag Wassef, aimed at authenticity and quality when they set to open the doors of Cleopatra Mediterranean Grill.

"Everything in here was brought back right from Egypt," Tobia said of the replica artifacts that comprise the decor. 

The recipes and food served at the grill are also authentic, and Tobia felt the area needed a place just like Cleopatra, something that would give patrons another cuisine option.

"I used to work in the area and I didn't see many places that offered healthy, fresh food for people to enjoy," he said. "So I decided to open up Cleopatra and give that to people. I like the community and the area and we are very happy to be here."

Everything at Cleopatra Mediterranean Grill is fresh and prepared on the grill (with the exception of french fries), Tobia says, and a brick-oven rests in the corner of the eatery for customers to watch as the homemade pita bread bakes. 

Cleopatra Mediterranean Grill is open everyday from 10a.m. to 10 p.m. and carry out is available. Delivery is also available for orders that are more than $50.
