LaLonde Jewelers Celebrate Grand Reopening

LaLonde Jewelers celebrates renovation and grand re-opening of their historic Hill location.

Members of the Grosse Pointe Chamber of Commerce joined Grosse Pointe Farms Mayor James C. Farquhar, Jr. to celebrate the renovation and grand re-opening LaLonde Jewelers and Gemologists.

Daniel LaLonde and his wife, Cynthia, purchased the former Pongracz Jewelers in 2001. During the past 12 years, the jewelers have increased revenue annually, according to a release.

"LaLonde Jewelers has experienced unprecedented success," said Daniel LaLonde, president and owner in a release. "We have a loyal customer base that trusts us with their jewelry and gemological needs. Our store was dated ... an it was the right time to bring a brand new retail jewelry experience to our customers."

The store is located in a building that has stood on the Hill since 1931, and under went a "six-figure plus" renovation overseen by a Grosse Pointe contractor and included hand-crafted LED-lit showcases that were custom-made near Grand Rapids and a new front awning designed by Belle Isle Awning Company.

Additionally, a private bridal section was added to the store.

To celebrate with the community, a celebratory toast will be held from 1- 5 p.m. Saturday.
